the places you'll go...
I know a few people who have told me about their second careers, their passion, the fulfilment of a dream and I am wondrous and will cross my toes for them because they are my friends, my love, my family and the ubiquitous stranger.
I don’t have a second career, it took to long to find the first, “career”, which is a very strong word. I do enjoy what I am doing, I enjoy the people and I force myself not to take it so seriously, even when I work late, I’m just phlegmatic. If you asked me what I wanted to do at 50 I would secretly know but would never admit to it, if I could I would like to direct three films between the ages of 50 and 60 but all of the other personal stuff is just to close to the bone even to blog.
And the days to come will remain long and my dreams I taper accordingly because I know that every bit of that journey, the one that's not frequently taken, has with many, many forks, much like next week.
A life outside of work is essential, I preach that doctrine but for my friends, my love, my family and the ubiquitous stranger – Dr Seuss has these words of wisdom”
“Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
Any direction you choose.”
