Xmas list items 2 and 3

On the Christmas list today we deal with "essentials," and to be on the safe side let me say, "essentials part one," because there maybe a sequel.

Last Sunday I witnessed a bit of redistribution of wealth when I was hanging out with my good friend Rustum Kozain, author, dj, et al at his home in Observatory. We were doing a bit of data transference when he noticed that his broadband connection was down. On inspection it became apparent that the antenna had been re-appropriated to which he poetically exclaimed: "The people want broadband, give the people (insert the superlative which begins with phfff and ends with ing) broadband."

Rustum recently published a volume of poetry, This Carting Life, and if you like me haven't picked up a poetry book since enjoying Auden then this is something that you need to own, it's essential reading, essential for on your coffee table, essential in your bookshelf and in that swanky bag. It's available at www.kalahari.net and if you ask me nicely, I will forward your details onto the author who would I am sure will oblige you with a signing.

How much will it fetch on eBay? Why bring e-Commerce into it and I don't know but he needs to replace that antennae and it's cheaper than a ZAR a page, I'll have you know.

Which brings me onto the second essential item that you may want to have on your Xmas list and that is a good beach towel. Mine is big, bright and bad, in fact as the image illustrates it's a "bad-boy" towel. Get one, you always need the right accessories, and this summer nothing beats the "bad boy" beach towel which will serve you well as you expose yourself to all and sundry.
