(error 302) carry on watching the cricket

Troubleshooting error messages, when will we see some progression in this area I wonder as I try to understand why I can't get onto the VPN (virtual private network) this morning.

If you want to the digitial business team on your side from the beginning of any project adhere to the following advice -

  1. Involve them from as early as possible. Some functional departments like for their involvement to be as and when required, tell us what you want and by when and we'll try to get it done. Don't make this mistake with your techno-visionary department, they like to feel like they are driving the business forward.
  2. Make sure that the project will pick up the first year support costs. This puts support on the agenda from the beginning and hopefully then you can properly document errors as you learn from that sandbox-beta phase and beyond.

Perhaps if these two tid-bits of advice had been adhered to then just maybe somebody could have QUICKLY helped me this morning.

The remote computer did not respond. For further assistance, click More Info or search Help and Support Center for this error number. (Error 678) For customized troubleshooting information for this connection, click Help.

After getting the error, reading the resolution and googling for more information I decided to get onto Messenger in order to find some assistance, here follows the digital transcript of a bit of IT 'trial and error/':

302 says: The specified destination is not reachable. (Error 769) For customized troubleshooting information for this connection, click Help.Pausing before reconnecting (4 seconds)...

302 says: okay that's a different message if I try to connect without a live connection. Maybe the server is down? but why do I feel like it's on my side.

Post conversation resolution - bring the laptop into the workshop on Monday and we'll check it out because IRas has over 80 such error messages and it's impossible to do it over the phone - so just carry on watching the cricket.
