perhaps I will see you there
You spend hours writing things up, documenting learnings and people tend to think that you are insane for wanting to contribute to the 'knowledge-bank' but if you believe in tangibly capturing knowledge, then that's what you do without question and generally without reward.
But sometimes the odd surprise (no I didn't drop a teaspoon on purpose) will pleasantly come your way. Today I got the following invitation, to co-present a paper which we complied for a project successfully undertaken, and my cup runneth over because I would have gone, to 'Paris' in the Free State to honour the work that was concluded but it's not that Paris which may now once again see me.
Dear Delegate,
It is my pleasure to invite you to join us at the Visa Global Commercial Forum in Paris, France on 26-28 March, 2007.
Organizations all over the world are continually seeking solutions that can save them time and money, while driving superior business performance. Visa Commercial is committed to working with you to offer flexible payment solutions and information management capabilities designed specifically to meet the needs of your corporate and government clients.
The Visa Global Commercial Forum, hosted by Visa, will bring together more than 100 Visa Member bank executives from around the world to showcase successful Visa Commercial programs and share best practices on “Driving Efficiencies with Intelligent Payment Solutions”.
This event offers you a great opportunity to network with a diverse group of professionals involved in developing, selling and implementing Visa payment and information management solutions for large and medium sized businesses including multinational companies and government agencies.
Don’t miss the opportunity to hear banks, customers, and industry experts share their knowledge and expertise on:
· Leading travel and purchasing programs
· Best practices for implementing commercial solutions
· Emerging industry trends
· Resources and tools offered by Visa and its technology partners
· And, much more!
I encourage you to take advantage of the wealth of knowledge that will converge in Paris and allow Visa this opportunity to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to delivering value to you.
We look forward to an exciting event and hope you will join us at the Visa Global Commercial Forum in Paris, the “City of Lights” (la Ville Lumière).
There's a lesson hidden in there somewhere but a belief in the capturing and sharing the/your knowledge will endear you to others and will hopefully every so often reward those noble intentions.
ca va?
