the night the winds of change blew over Newlands
It's always nice to witness a little bit of history, and this morning I tip my cap to the Cape Cobras who won the first MTN cricket challenge at Newlands yesterday.
That's a first but a bigger first was the fact that the trophy was lifted by a Black captain on a pitch prepared by a Black groundsman.
It's been a very long period of metamorphosing for cricket lets hope the transformation and success continues long beyond this memorable feat.
A footnote for mr Oswest:
Ben, sorry mate, I know that you would have wanted to be there but it's kinda difficult from New Mexico. Anyway take some solace in the fact that I was there and I shall continue to explain the nuances of this fine game to you when you get back - it's going to be a great summer of cricket.
