my inorganic salary

Today's a public holiday, a Bank holiday if you prefer, and falling on a Monday makes it all the more enjoyable, in fact if you could package this organic feel-good you wouldn't have to play the lottery anymore because you would indeed be very rich.

There is nothing quite like being able to sleep late on that ghosting third day of the weekend in the knowledge that it is legitimate, just lovely to awake close to noon - 'good news always waits until noon,' as they say.

Yesterday I went out to purchase odds and sods at the local convenience store and because it was fairly empty I could have a look around at all things that were new. It's mainly organic in nature (no pun) but since I get paid an inorganic salary, I for the most part steer clear. I recently tried organic liquorice, pretty horrible stuff and at the price, I remain unconvinced.

'Organic' is just everywhere, from wine to yoghurt, which I bought, but is it a fad or will we see 'organic' black market goods appearing because the demand is so great and the price so high, I don't have a steer on that one but since the major retailers are devoting gondola space to it, it must be a profit centre - well at the price it's an obvious observation.

We'll pay more for convenience, for better service, and for organic which falls within the realms of better. But for all the health benefits, I remain sceptical, modern medicine and the capitalist economy has already put the retirement age back five years to 65 so I'm sure the "generics" will make a comeback, the economy demands that it's labour units be fit.

Anyway I know someone who wants to be an organic farmer so I am going to gravitate closer to her just in case their really is a sustainable organic business model until then it's limited to spinach and yoghurt in my shopping basket.
